Albert T. Cheeseman, 79 of Harpursville, NY passed away on Sat. March 12, 2016 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Edgar B. & Winifred A. Cheeseman, sisters, Ruth Bernard, Mary Parsons, Anna Ashley and brothers, Bruce & Edgar J. Cheeseman. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosemarie, his children, Albert (Tammy) Cheeseman, Megan (Maynard) Fahs, Amanda Cheeseman all of Binghamton, NY and Mark Cheeseman of San Diego, CA, adoring grandchildren, Alaijah, Khalil, Tarik, Dylan & Lacey, sisters, Alma Wells of Vestal, Sara Hastings & Edna Reese of Binghamton and Vera (Ken) Cornwell of Newark Valley along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Albert was born on Aug. 24, 1936 in Harpursville, NY. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1954 and later nobly served his country in the United States Army. After returning , Albert worked hard alongside his wife to provide a good life for his family working as a pressman at Vail-Ballou Press until his retirement. Albert had a passion for gardening and “tinkering” with his tractors. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and a warm smile to anyone who needed it. Albert’s friendly and talkative persona touched the hearts of everyone he met and anyone willing to sit and chat. Albert was a strong, giving and warmhearted man; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Sue Crawson-Brizzolara will officiate. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery, Ouaquaga with military honors. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Thurs. from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations can be made in Alberts’s memory to the Ouaquaga United Methodist Church POB 23 Harpursville, NY 13787.
