Of Afton

Charles C. Closs, 78 of Afton died Thurs. April 7, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Hospital.  He is survived by his wife of 50 and a half years, Joyce, 6 children and their families, Harry (Lois) Closs, Norwich, Nancy Marie Stevens, Binghamton, Christina (John) McDermott, NC, Diahanna (Jeffrey) Deuel, NC, Charles K. & Heather Closs, Kirkwood, Kathryn Closs & Ceaser, Binghamton, several grandchildren, one great grandchild on the way, a brother & sister-in-law, Henry & Dorothy Closs, Walton, and also several nieces and nephews.  He was a retired employee of Amphenol Corp. in Sidney, Retired school Bus Driver from Afton Central Schools.  He served his country in the Army Reserves in Walton.  He enjoyed his friends and family, while watching TV, playing cards and sitting with his Boston Terriers.   

A Celebration of His Life will be held at the VFW on Main Street in Afton On Friday April 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. with a service of remembrance at 5 p.m.  On-line condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.  Arrangements by Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71  Maple Street Harpursville.
