Donald J. Stickles, 91 of Binghamton passed away Sun. Feb. 12, 2017 at Wilson Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 59 years. Alice M. Stickles, Binghamton, daughter, Linda Miller, Binghamton, son, Richard Stickles, Alabama, 5 grandchildren, Rachel Miller, Jaclyn Miller, Jason & Rebekah Stickles, Sean & Rebecca Stickles, Victoria Stickles, 7 great grandchildren, Carson, Carmen, Erik, Justin, Gabriel, Alabama, & Peyton, 3 sisters & brothers-in-law, Mary Ann & Joseph Husnay, Conklin, Laura & Thomas Donnelly, Conklin, Carol & Robert Rosati, Willett, brother & sister-in-law, Wayne (Ed) & Joyce Stickles, Endicott and also several nieces and nephews. He was a retired employee of I.B.M. Corp, former Broome County District Supervisor, 32nd Degree Mason, member of the United Way, Army Veteran of WW II stationed in Germany as a medic, graduate of Binghamton Central High School in 1943 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Johnson City. In his retirement years, he and Alice enjoyed extensive traveling and winters in FL. In his memory, the family would like to donate a picnic table to Otsiningo Park where he was often found feeding the squirrels and chipmunks. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up at NBT Bank ‘In Memory of Donald J Stickles’ PO Box 736 Johnson City, NY 13790 for donations for the table.
Memorial Services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1321 Reynolds Rd. Johnson City on Tues Feb. 21, 2017 at 6 p.m. Rev. James Murphy, Pastor will officiate.
