Harpursville: Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and niece, Gail F. Northrop, 72 of Harpursville passed away on Mon. Dec. 6, 2010 at Wilson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, C. Fletcher Noyes and Elizabeth Lacey and a brother Charles Fletcher Noyes Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Sr, Pt. Crane, their children, Joseph, Pt. Crane, Daniel Jr. & Donna, Harpursville, Roderick & Sharon, VA, Donna & Victor Gurney, Broadalbin, Kenneth & Tonia of Harpursville, special daughters-in-law, Cheryl, NC, and Sharon, Nineveh, her brothers, Francis (Sharon) Noyes, Lawrence (Arlene) Noyes, Olin (Sherrie) Schermerhorn, Fletcher (Rosemary) Noyes, her sisters, Betti (Don) Niles, Jean (Cosmo) Maggio, Ida (John) Knapp. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Danielle, Jennifer, Jacquelyn, Gregg, Amy, Theresa, Grant, Jennifer, Shannon, Kristen, Sheryl, Jonathan, Jessica, Adrienne, Samantha, 22 great grandchildren, two favorite aunts, Josephine Mosier and Theda Lacey along with several nieces, nephews and cousins that round out the extended family. Gail was a Den Leader of Cub Scout Pack 180, Past Nobel Grand of Alice Rebekah Lodge, a life member and Past Pres. of the American Legion Auxillary Post 1596, Co-owner and operator of Northrop’s Restaurant in Harpursville, 10 year Pres. of Surf City Vol. Fire Dept Auxillary in NC, and a member of the VFW in NC, Broome County 8 & 40 and the Colesville Super Celebration Committee. She retired after 20 years plus from Harpursville Central Schools as a bus driver.
 
Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Fri at 11 a.m. Rev. William Fowler & Pastor Sue Shields will co-officiate. Private burial will be in RiverviewCemetery, Harpursville.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Thurs. from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in memory of Gail may be made to Colesville Volunteer Ambulance Service (CVAS) POB 62 Harpursville, NY 13787. On-line condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made at: www.omaddenfh.com
