Gilbert Lester Clark, 92 of Afton went to join the Heavenly Choir on Fri. Oct. 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.  He was born on Nov. 15, 1923 in Scranton, PA.  Gil was predeceased  by his parents, Lester G. & Beulah M. Clark, brother, John P. Clark and sister DeEtta Mae Edwards.  He is survived by his wife of 67 years. Ann M. (Langan) Clark, daughters, Kathleen A. Hamlin, Plano, IL., Priscilla A. Clark, Binghamton, Constance A. Beal, Owl’s Head, ME., grandchildren, Heather J. Morris, Bradley Wilkening, Nerissa M. Kuebrich, Kailea Sackett, Craig E. Beal, great grandchildren, Alex  S. Morris, Anastasia Morris, Aden Morris, Keegan Sackett & Magnolia Sackett, Henry Gilbert & Linnea and also several nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of Central High School, Scranton, PA and entered Mansfield College.  Gil entered WW II in Dec. of 1942 from Mansfield University.  He served as an infantryman in the invasion of Salerno and was captured by the German Army and imprisoned in Stalag 2B until he was liberated by English Forces.  Upon returning home, Gil enrolled in Syracuse University and was graduated in 1949 in the field of Music Education.  His life was filled with the love of his violin and family.
