John H. Cower, 85 of Harpursville, the last of a generation, the youngest of 8, passed away peacefully on Sun. Jan. 15, 2017 at home.  “Uncle John” is survived by his many nieces and nephews along with their families.  Uncle John had a unique approach to life; never complained and never worried.  He trusted his family to provide what he needed.  Although he did let you know if he did (or didn’t) like something.  He loved to eat and loved all the farm animals.  Uncle John was a simple man who delighted in the simple things in life; peanut butter sandwiches, a cup of coffee, watching John Wayne and other westerns; getting mail; horses and had a borderline obsession with collecting hats.  He will be remembered, he will be missed.

Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Mon. at 11 a.m. Pastor Crawson-Brizzolara will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor in the spring.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Mon. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  On-line condolences may be made at:    www.omaddenfh.com.
