James Frederick Krahwinkel, 80, Harpursville, NY passed away peacefully on October 3, 2017 at UHS Hospital surrounded by family.   James is survived by his wife Louise of 56 years, daughters Deborah Thorne,  Dawn Kotsko, Darlene (Todd) Thomas, Dulcey Krahwinkel, son Oliver (Amber)Krahwinkel, two grandsons Tony and Todd who called him dad, sisters Marylu Bowman, Marcia Daniels, Marquita Hawkins, Penny VanScoy, Tonya Scales, brothers Robert Soules, Kenny Soules, grandchildren Robert, Matt, Jason, Samantha, Mark, Olivia, Courtney, Jennifer, Tyler, Zachary, Ashley, Grace, Owen, and many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.  Jim is preceded in death by his father Fred, mother Muriel, brother Gene, and son in-law Bob.  Jim’s hobbies were fishing, cooking, watching baseball, bluegrass concerts and going to his grandkids/great grandkids sporting events.  Jim served in the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge.  He retired in 1998 from the Press & Sun Bulletin after 15 years, and in his later years he delivered parts for NAPA Auto.  A special thank you to the staff on North Tower 3 for their loving care and concern.

A memorial celebrating Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, October 7th. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:30 with a service to follow at Conklin Presbyterian Church 1175 Conklin Rd Conklin, NY 13748.  In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made in Jim’s name to The American Heart Association P.O.
