Merna L. (Kunkel) Isabell, 61, went to be with the Lord from her beloved home in Afton, NY on Friday morning, January 13, 2017.  Merna had a deep faith in Christ and often said she was ready and looked forward to her home in Heaven.  She was a testament of God's mercy & love with her selfless giving and would want all of us to know Christ as their Savior.  Merna operated the Kirby House Home for the Elderly for 19 years, owned a real estate and mortgage office, and was a very talented & resourceful home designer/decorator.  She had a creative passion to make things beautiful and loved to paint furniture, which she sold along with antiques at local shops.  Merna was the rock of her loving family and will be deeply missed by her supportive parents, Lynwood & Arla Kunkel, her loving companion of 19 years, Barney O'Rourke, her former husband & close friend of 45 years, Kevin (Cecilia) Isabell, their children and her best friends Daniel & Laurie (Jeff), her grandchildren Liliana Grace & Abriella Rose whom she adored; her close siblings Mike Kunkel & Cindy (Kunkel) Hurlburt, sisters-in-laws Bonnie (Robert) Barr & Marlea Crimmins, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins on both sides of the family.

Friends & family may pay respects on Thursday, January 19th at the Afton Baptist Church, 30 Caswell St., Afton NY at 11am with the funeral service following at noon.  To support her love for cats, please make donations to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.  On-line condolences may be made at:    www.omaddenfh.com.
