Russell A. “Russ” Hamilton, 81 of Harpursville passed away peacefully on Fri. Feb. 24, 2017.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace Hamilton. a daughter & son-in-law, Theresa & John Rodgers, The Villages, FL, 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Glenn  & Cheryl Hamilton, Harpursville,  Dale Hamilton & Wanda Barber, Harpursville, 5 grandchildren, Casondra Hamilton, Kaitlyn Hamilton & fiance George Eager, Aubrey Rodgers, Kiersten Hamilton, Joshua Rodgers, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Russell & Connie Weist, Tunnel, Ann Weist Bishop, Renton, Wash., and also several nieces and nephews.  He was born and raised in Jamaica, Queens. He was an agent for Farm Family Insurance Co., Charter Member of the Colesville Rotary Club and operated the family farm for many years.  He was an active member of the Farm Bureau and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s activities, flying his plane, fishing off his boat and his “coffee club.”

Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Mon. at 6 p.m.  Pastor Sue Crawson-Brizzolara will officiate.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville at the convenience of the family.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Mon. from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to service.    On-line condolences may be made at:  www.omaddenfh.com.
