Wendell I. “Bud” Ward, 89 of Nineveh passed away Mon. evening May 8, 2017 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford.  He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Patrice & Larry Van De Weert, Nineveh, 2 sons & daughter-in-law, Jefferson Ward & Beth Smith, Mass., Joseph & Esther Ward, NC, 6 grandchildren, sister-in-law, Catharine Ward, Oneonta, former daughter-in-law, Alison Ward, Waverly and also several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Bechtel and a twin brother, William J. Ward Jr.  He was a member and elder of the Nineveh Presbyterian Church, a US Army & US Navy Veteran, member of the Harpursville American legion Post 1596 and the Eastern Broome Senior Citizens in Harpursville.

Funeral Services will be held at the Nineveh Presbyterian Church NY Rte. 7 on Sat. at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be in Walton Cemetery on Sat. at 2 p.m.  The family will receive friends at the Nineveh Presbyterian Church on Sat. from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nineveh Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or NYS Veterans Home Activity Fund.  On-line condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.  The family wishes to thank the staff at the NYS Veterans Home for their exceptional love and care.  Arrangements by the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville.
