Ann Clark Obituary

On the sunny afternoon of December 27, 2018, heaven gained a special angel. Ann Marie Theresa Langan Clark of Afton, NY was born in Scranton, PA on March 3, 1928. Ann spent her early years on the family farm in Moscow, PA. In later years she graduated from Marywood College. She married Gilbert L Clark on August 22, 1949, and celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in 2016 before his passing in October 2016.  She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Delores Langan,  her niece Maureen Langan, her nephew Brian Langan and her treasured brother John F. "Jack" Langan (both in 2015). Ann was a 4th grade elementary school teacher at Greene and Wm Olmsted Elementary Schools for over 20 years until her retirement in 1990. Ann was a past member of both the Afton Library Board, Afton Planning Board and Afton Historical Society. She helped many children and touched many lives, teachers included. Gil and Ann spent many fun summers in Newport, RI,  enjoying the ocean, concerts and mansions all in the comfort of their travel trailer. She also shared her love of these things with her children, Kathy(Wally) Hamlin of Plano Il., Priscilla Clark of Binghamton, NY, and Constance(Dale) Beal of Owls Head, ME. and Sue Eilenberg, a very special friend.  Ann's special grandchildren include Heather (Greg) Olson, Brad Wilkening, Nerissa (Matt) Kuebrich, and Kailea (Steve) Sackett, all of Illinois and also Craig Beal (special friend Ashley Moore).  She was also blessed with great grandchildren who include Zander Morris, Anastasia Morris, Aiden Morris, Henry Kuebrich, Linnea Kuebrich, Sylvia and Gwendolyn Wikening and their loving mother, Anastasia Wilkening, Keegan Sackett, and Magnolia Sackett. Ann is also survived by her sister in law Renee Langan and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Ann's last few years have been challenging and she couldn’t have survived without her caring friends whom she loved like her own.  We thank Peggy McGraw, Crystal Wilewski, Wanda Niles, Arlene Voorhis, Terri McCall, Kathy Oswald, Urek Govgon and her personal chef and confidant, Doug Ashley. We are forever grateful for your love and care.
