Donald H. “Smitty” Smith, 84, of Nineveh, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 2, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Grace Smith; his brothers Harold (Frances) and Forrest (Janet); his niece Janice Hons; and his wife, Minerva. He is survived by his nieces and nephews: Sally Durisek, Cohoes, Richard & Vallory Smith, Ouaquaga, Larry & Vickie Smith, Windsor, Patti Ferber, Windsor, Stacy and Jennifer Smith, Harpursville, several great nieces, great nephews, and his dog "Mickey." He was a US Army veteran, who was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He retired from International Paper in Conklin. He loved to tell stories about driving the General around base. He was a loyal Dodgers fan, avid hunter, and proud member of the NRA. He loved spending time with his hunting buddies at the cabin. He will be missed by all.

Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71  Maple Street Harpursville on Sat. at 11 a.m.  Rev. Barbara Green will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sat. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  Online condolences may be made at:    www.omaddenfh.com.
