Doris B. Stone, 89 of Afton passed away on Tues. Dec. 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.  She was predeceased by her husband, Lyle W. Stone, her sister, Virginia Davall & brother Lee Brotzman. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Dale & Jeanette Grover, Afton, daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & David Hicks, Nashville, TN, 7 grandchildren, Laura, Dale Jr., Melanie, Julie, & Emily, Evan & Caleb, 6 Great grandchildren, Megan, Kyle, James, Angelina, Emma, & Eddie, sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Ray Howland, Ithaca, brother, Harold Brotzman, Williamstown, Mass. and several nieces and nephews.  She was a member and Elder of Afton Presbyterian Church for 70 years, a retired employee of Horton Hardware in Afton, member of the Afton Historical Society, Jericho Arts Council in Bainbridge, Quilting Clubs and started Afton Ugly Quilts (sleeping bags for the homeless).

Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sat. at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sat. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Afton Presbyterian Church
