Amanda Rupakus Obituary

Amanda Rochelle Rupakus

Of Harpursville

Amanda Rochelle Rupakus, 35, of Harpursville, born on August 28, 1989, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

Amanda is survived by her parents, Bill and Iris Rupakus, sister Tracy (John) Peters, brother Adam (Stephanie) Rupakus, her daughter Briella and son Ryder, nephews and nieces Ryan, Evan, Rylee, Bryce, and Addie.  Good friends Don Lockwood and his daughter Faith.  Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

She was predeceased by her grandma, Bernice Bosket.

Amanda attended both Harpursville and Afton schools, graduating from Afton in 2008.

From the moment she could run, Amanda was a force of nature—fearless, adventurous, and always on the move. As a child, she could be found climbing the tallest trees, swimming like a fish until the sun dipped below the horizon, and keeping up with the boys without a second thought—an unstoppable tomboy with a heart full of fire. Her love for sports, especially softball, carried her through school, where she shined as a fierce competitor and a dedicated teammate.

A huge part of Amanda’s softball journey was her beloved coach and mentor, Cindy “Bos” Bostelman, whom she affectionately called her second mom. Bos wasn’t just a coach—she was a guiding light in Amanda’s life, keeping her on the right path, pushing her to be her best, and always believing in her. Their bond was one of deep respect, love, and lifelong impact, shaping Amanda into the strong and determined woman she became.

As she grew, Amanda blossomed into a stunning and radiant woman, but her most cherished role was that of a mother. Her two children were the center of her world, the loves of her life, and she poured every ounce of her strength, warmth, and endless love into them. To know Amanda was to know someone who lived boldly, loved deeply, and embraced every moment with an open heart.

Amanda had a generous and compassionate spirit, always thinking of others. In keeping with her giving nature, she chose to be an organ donor, and through this final act of kindness, she gave the gift of life to others. Her legacy of love and generosity will live on in those she has helped.

The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sun. March 23, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A meal will be served immediately after calling hours at the Sanitaria Springs Firehouse, located at 811 NY-7, Sanitaria Springs. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring her legacy by becoming an organ donor yourself—a final act of kindness that can change lives.
