Carol E. Bushaw, 67 of Deposit passed away on Tues. morning Dec. 27, 2022 at Wilson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen E. Bushaw, granddaughter, Angel Bushaw, sister, Barbara (Mike, surviving) Vennett.

She is survived by her 10 children, Richard (Cindy) Carpenter, Chad (Elisa) Bushaw, Antigone (Patty) Bushaw, Stephen (Carla) Bushaw Jr., Devon (Emmy) Bushaw, Dion Bushaw, LumineraMist Bushaw, Bohannan Dallas Bushaw, Pierce Bushaw, Appalonia Bushaw, 4 grandchildren, Austin (Lynn) Carpenter, CeCe & ZetaBea Bushaw, Owen Bushaw, 2 great grandchildren, Dawsyn & Henley, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and their spousesand also several nieces and nephews

While raising her elder children she was known to show up with a few extras in tow. She chose a career in child care knowing that was where her heart would be happiest. Later her path would lead to the foster care system. Even after the death of her husband, she continued on, adoption being her end goal, she succeeded in that as well.

She had 19 years of service to the Colesville Volunteer Ambulance Service (CVAS). She was in charge of getting donations for the squad for fundraisers. Carol honored The Afton Youth Sports Organization program for 8 years and served on their board. Many would recognize her running the concession stand, sitting at sign ups and heading up fundraisers. She also may have been a little pushy trying to get volunteer coaches.

Carol was recently described as having the biggest heart, with the best personality, inside a small body.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Thursday Jan. 5, 2023 at 5 p.m. at Coleville Volunteer Ambulance Service Building on King Street Harpursville.  The family will receive friends at the CVAS building on Thurs. from 2 to 5 p.m. prior to service.  Online condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.   Arrangements by the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville.  A MADDEN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
