Carrolynn M. Merrell, 96 of Harpursville died Tues. June 30, 2026 at Mercy House.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Merrell, daughter, Robin, and son, Steve, brothers, Richard (Mayme) Ritchie, Donald (Bonnie) Ritchie. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin and was the daughter of James P. & Lucille B. (Ward) Ritchie.
She is survived by her 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Lori & James Hawkins, Kelly & Richard Welch, daughter- in-law, Lora Merrell, 5 grandchildren, Robert, Jamie (Clay), Kacie (William), Richard (Danielle), Kristin (Zak), 8 great grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Harpursville United Methodist Church, Harpursville American Legion Auxillary, Eastern Broome Senior Citizens, Red Hat Ladies, Rebecca Lodge and a founding member of Colesville Volunteer Ambulance Service (CVAS)
She was a retired employee of Harpursville Central Schools.
Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Thurs. at 11 a.m. Pastor Rick Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Thurs. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.
