Donald B. Roberts, Jr.
Donald B. Roberts, Jr., 81 of Hillcrest passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home. He was born in Exeter, New Hampshire on December 10, 1940 to the late Bruce Donald Roberts and Clara Marie Kierstead. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Louis & Mildred Gerbe, sister-in-law, Janet Poreda. sister, Charlotte Roberts and brother-in-law, Fred Moore. He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Marie L. Roberts, his three children, Jeffrey Roberts, Timothy (Maureen) Roberts and Shawn (Kathy) Roberts; sisters Rita Moore & Bonnie Rafferty, brothers and sisters-in- law, William and Sally Roberts, Joseph & Susan Roberts and brother-in-law, Herb Poreda, a special aunt, Laura Paige, and Beverly Roberts; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Don spent his early years on the farm of Lottie and Steve Juriga on Tunnel Road and later served in the US Navy. He worked tirelessly in the energies department at Ansco, finishing his career with Anitec Image Corporation. He was a member of the Community Bible Church and enjoyed swimming and a competitive game of horseshoes where there always had to be a “grand-championship”. He enjoyed his daily walks at Otsiningo Park, walking up to six miles daily, affectionately being referred to as “The Mayor.” Don endured much pain, suffering and health complications over the years and we rejoice in the Lord that he is now at peace.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple Street, Harpursville at 12 Noon. Pastor Norman Blowers will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Thurs. from 11 am to 12 noon prior to service. Burial will follow in the Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery.
