Dorothy Marion Dutcher passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sat. March 2, 2024. Marion was born Dec. 13, 1925 in Yonkers, NY. She was married to Herb Dutcher, who preceded her in death 36 years ago. Marion was a devoted homemaker and later worked as a teacher’s aide at the Harpursville Elementary School for over 30 years. Marion and Herb opened their home to many foster children throughout their marriage. She was a longtime member of the Nineveh Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working with children, traveling on cruises, crocheting, reading and watching TV game shows. She remained in her home during her later years, in the loving care of her neighbors, John and Glenda Wayman and their family. She also had several other devoted care givers, Donna Hanson, Deborah Juhase, Pat Van De Weert , BrooklynMacNaught, Kim Voltz, and Kathie Merrill. She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Harvey) Reissig and Judi Dawson, nine grandchildren, 13 great[1]grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Ron.
Memorial services will be held at the Nineveh Presbyterian Church on Sat. 11am. Burial will be in Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sat. from 10-11am prior to the service. Contributions should be made to the Nineveh Public Library 3029 NY-7, Nineveh, NY 13813.
