Douglas L. “Doug” Roys
Of Harpursville
Douglas “Doug” L. Roys, age 69 of Harpursville, NY passed away on Sun. July 10th, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Ethel Roys along with sister, Mary Katherine Roys. Doug is survived by his wife of 43 years Karen (Tabor) Roys, son, Philip Roys, daughter Regina Roys, granddaughter Mersedes Roys, brother, Robert Roys (Carol Roys predeceased), brother John Roys (Nancy Roys) and sister Elizabeth Navickas (Thomas Navickas), and multiple nieces and nephews, beloved pets, Chloe, Princess Kitty and he met his beloved lab Belle at the rainbow bridge. Doug was a precision sheet metal machinist, tool and die maker by trade like his father. Doug was a graduate of Harpursville Central School and obtained a degree in business from BCC. Doug had a love for music notably the Grateful Dead. Born in Baltimore on May 12, 1953 he became a lifelong Orioles fan. His hobbies included playing solitaire, making inventions, watching History shows, playing guitar, long drives and walking his pets. Doug enjoyed time spent on the family boat as a child, later his boat at the finger lakes, at the family hunting cabin, and being home tinkering around the house.
