FLORENCE MARIE (DECKER) CONNORS
July 11, 1922 – March 15, 2021

Florence Marie (Decker) Connors of Bainbridge, N.Y. passed away March 15, 2021. The daughter of Dewey W. Decker and Josephine Roberts Decker she was 98 years old. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald William Connors, daughter, Catherine Connors, and four siblings: Graden Decker, Betty Decker Teal, Helen Decker Cline, and Sherland Decker. She is survived by her two daughters, Florence Connors Turchetti of South Deerfield MA and Priscilla Connors of Denton TX, and four siblings, Bernice Decker Hartz of Deposit NY, Dewey A. Decker of Winsor NY, Jack Decker of Hodgensville KY, and Joann Decker Neer of Windsor NY. She has seven surviving grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Florence was active in the agricultural community where she and her husband operated a dairy farm in Afton NY. She worked for Chenango County Cooperative Extension and Farm Home Administration. She was a poll worked for the local elections board well into her nineties. As a high school student in Deposit NY Florence excelled at sports and was among the first girls to earn a letter jacket. She was accomplished at bowling and known for her love of dancing and cardplaying. In her later years she wrote narrative poetry and journaled about her life experiences. Friends and family remember her goodwill and love of life. She was always just a phone call away when you needed a kind word and cheerful voice. She is deeply missed.
