Gary L. Kattell, 68 of Afton died Wed. Aug. 13, 2025.  He is survived by his longtime companion of 14 years, Luanne Yancey, Afton, daughter & son-in-law, Danielle & Joseph Shannon, Rhode Island, 2 grandchildren, sister, Betsy Sojda, Syracuse, 2 nephews, Vincent Sojda, Syracuse, Matthew Sojda & Sarah Hassett, Syracuse and their son, Graham.

He was a retired HVAC Technician.  He was a member of the Broome County Rod and Gun Club, and visited the Rod and Gun Clun in Unadilla.  He was a US Navy veteran.

Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sat. Aug. 23, 2025 at 11 a.m.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sat. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  Memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue organization in his memory.  Online condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.
