Henry E. Bender, 91 of Nineveh died unexpectedly on Mon. Jan. 22, 2024 at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bertha Bender, Nineveh, daughter Cheryl (Joe) Tobias, SC, son, Keith R. Bender, Lebanon, PA, step children, Melvin & Kim McCaulley, Afton, Jackie & Daron Schultes, Coventry, Melanie & Mike McGrath, FL, David Bender, Lebanon, PA, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Betty Bender, Lebanon, PA and also several nieces and nephews.
He was a retired Bus Driver from Capitol Trailways. He was the founder of Henry’s Drive-In in Afton. He was a US Army veteran of Korea. He attended Community Bible Church in Binghamton.
Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sun. at 2 p.m. Pastor Norman Blowers will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Quentin, PA at a later date. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sun. from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. prior to service.
