Laurence F. “Fred” Thomas Sr. 78 of Afton passed away on Wed. morning Dec. 2, 2020 at his home.  He was predeceased by his wife, Diane Thomas, daughter, Ann Grace Thomas, brother, Ray.  He is survived by his 6 children, Laurence F. Thomas Jr., Timothy P. Thomas, Gary L. & Mary Ellen Thomas, Raymond L. Thomas & Cathy, Jeffrey M. & Tommie Thomas, Susan A. Thomas, step children, Cindy Hoffman, Chris Gifford, Carina Shultis, Jim Gifford, Celina Pasche, Paul Michaletz, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Judy Conlon, Margaret DiGiulio, 4 brothers, John, James, Terrance, Daniel, and also several nieces and nephews, loving, friend, Alice Lockwood and his former wife, Margaret Rahl.  He was a retired employee of Coventry Highway Dept., former employee of Taylor Garbage, and worked for Shaw Tree Service.

Private Graveside Services will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Deposit at the convenience of the family.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sat. from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chenango County 33-39 Court Street Norwich, NY 13815.  Online condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.
