Lawrence R. “Larry” Jones
Of Harpursville
Lawrence R Jones - In his memory: It is incredibly difficult to believe you left us so abruptly April 7, 2021. We want to celebrate your life, so well lived. We honor the man that loved us and we loved in return. You spent your life giving of your time, effort, and attention to each person one at a time. You had a way of connecting with family, lifelong friends, neighbors and employees. As we sort through our emotions, your photos and a lifetime of assorted collections, the man you became was more revealed, more funny and more sorely missed. You will be missed the most by your beloved sons Scott Jones with partner Laura Beavers, Dana Jones, their mother, Donna P. Jones and the sons step father Dan DeWitt of Easley, South Carolina. A sister, Janet Fuller also survives. He was a very special person. After graduation from Windsor HS in 1959, he attended Broome Tech where he became a certified tool and die maker. He began a career at Universal Instruments that paved the way to starting his own business, Maplerow Precision, noted for precise prototype work at which he excelled. Larry knew the customers demanded excellence, and he expected the same from his sons, now equal partners. He loved Corvettes, operating equipment that kept his home beautiful, his dog Toby, the country life and spending time on Lake Ontario. Larry was a great man who surrounded himself with good people. A man of integrity, his word was as binding as any contract. He will be missed by all who knew him
We will celebrate his life on a date to be determined, making him the center of our thoughts and attention, giving us the opportunity to join together to honor him. If you wish to make a donation in Larry's memory, please think of the American Heart Association or the Harpursville Volunteer Fire Department. We loved you Dad. May your memory be eternal and your life lessons continue to guide our future. Online condolences may be made at: www.omaddenfh.com. Arrangements by the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville.
