Linda Frost, 81 of Tunnel NY passed away after courageously battling a sudden illness. Linda was predeceased by her parents Layton and Lucy Holcomb, her husband of 40 years Alton “Jack” Frost and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Linda is survived by her brother Mike Holcomb, sister Lora Merrell, daughter Michelle Steinbrecher (Fran), son Jeff Frost (Jennifer), grandsons Scott Gage(Christen), Derek Steinbrecher, Jeremy Steinbrecher (Sandra), dear friends, Yolanda, Tony, Susie, Claire, Teddy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Linda’s most cherished role was being Gigi to Emma,Rylan, Keith, Gabby, Adaleigh, Lainey, Parker, Dalton and Jackson. Linda and her family owned the Hitchin Post restaurant for 24 years where many customers also became like family. She was also the Tunnel Postmaster for 23 years. Linda was an Army wife and lived several different places including Germany. She was a proud American and especially proud of her home town of Tunnel, NY. Linda lived her life large and tackled each day with a no BS attitude. With a heart of gold she loved fiercely and poured herself into caring for her friends and family. She was always the biggest fan of her grandsons and great grandchildren supporting them in all of their activities. She enjoyed socializing and never missed a chance to party. Her family will miss her homemade pies, her many specialty dishes and her newly found passion for making pudding shots. The world will be a lot less colorful without Linda, her hair as well as her language.
A party in her honor will be held at The Hitchin Post on Sunday November 13th from 2 to 6pm. Burial will be held in New Ohio cemetery at the convenience of the family.
