Nina P. Wilcox, 102, of Afton died Sunday morning, June 25, at Ideal Senior Living Center in Endicott. She was predeceased by her son, Wendell, and husband, Hyman. Nina is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Wyoma and Michael Chambala of Johnson City, NY, and Lenice and Raymond Tyc of Alpine, WY; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Brent Tyc and Claire Fuller, Bryan and Kelly Chambala (three great-grandchildren), and Amanda and Daniel Micholychak (four great-grandchildren). Nina was a member of the Nineveh Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Bendix Corp. in Sidney. She was a gentle and loving presence in her family, a lover of all animals with a special gift for attracting birds to her feeders on the farm in Nineveh, and a prolific and talented poet who marked holidays, birthdays, and other moments with poems written for the occasion.
Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Fri. at 11 a.m. Rev. Douglas Horne will officiate. Burial will be in Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Fri. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.
