Richard J. Risoli, 88, Ret. Lt. of NYPD Mounted Unit died Friday Dec. 13, 2024 at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital.

He is survived by his son, Richard R. Risoli & Timoteo Morales, New York City, daughter, Lauren B. Risoli (Bob Bradley), Cooperstown, granddaughter, Jane Q. Risoli Murray, Buffalo, brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Joan Risoli, Tunnel and also several nieces and nephews, and long time partner, Tomi Stewart and family.

He was retired from NYPD, a Lieutenant of the Movie Unit and a longtime member and eventually commander of the Mounted Unit, where he worked very hard to help revive the city’s Mounted Unit.  He was a mentor and friend to many throughout his career and continued to contribute to the force after his retirement.

Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Friday at 12 noon.  Burial will be in New Ohio Cemetery, Tunnel.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Fri. from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to service.
