Richard F. “Dick” Hinman
Of Coventry
Richard F. “Dick” Hinman, 80 of Coventry passed away peacefully on Mon. Feb. 2, 2026surrounded by love. He was born on Nov. 22, 1945 and lived his life as a dedicated farmer.
Richard owned and operated Rex Farms. He did custom crop work and hauled brewer’s grain for many local farmers. He also drove milk truck for Coventry Transport. He was especially proud to own his brand new Western Star- “The nicest farm truck in Town.” Above all, he taught his children, the value of hard work.
He is survived by his devoted son, Rob (Stephanie) Hinman, his grandchildren, Kyle Hinman, Taylor (Patrick) Hinman, Mariah (Zach) Hinman and John (Shaina) Hinman, his great grandson, Westyn and his beloved dog, Violet, whom he loved dearly, his sister, Barbara Griswold and other family.
Richard was predeceased by his son, Rex Hinman, parents, Fred & Sarah (Dickinson) Hinman and brother Charles Dickinson.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Crown Park Rehabilitation in Cortland, Joseph Brennan at Tri-County NP, Coventry EMS, the doctors and nurses at Fox Hospital and his care aide, Violet Baxter for their care and compassion.
There will be no service at this time. A private burial will take place in the spring when the fields begin to awaken once more. Ricard’s legacy of hard work will live on through his family.
