Ruth S. Butts, 100 of Nineveh died unexpectedly on Sun. Nov. 9, 2025 at her home.   She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn in 1988.

She is survived by her children, Mary Maricle, Nineveh, Wesley & Lorna Butts, Aurora, NY, Gerald Butts & Connie Houston, and her children, Marlene & Marlin, Moravia, Glenda & Donald Schrantz, Nineveh, 7 grandchildren, Michael, Michel, Julie, Stephen, Gerald, Amy & Glenalan, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and more on the way along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, George (Janet), Donald (Helen) & John (Ethel), sisters, Betty (Mahlon) Beach and Grace (Floyd) Fisher, sister-in-law, Gail.

She was a retired clerk from Scintilla Corp. in Sidney, a member of Hope Congregational Church in Afton, member of Alice Rebekah Lodge, Masonville Grange and the Eastern Broome Senior Citizen Center in Harpursville.

Funeral Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Thurs. at 3 p.m.  Pastor Maryann Palmatier will officiate.  Burial will be in Masonville Cemetery on Friday at 2 p.m.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Thurs. from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to service.
