Thomas E. “Tommy” Pangburn
Of Chenango Forks
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas "Tommy" Pangburn, 71, of Chenango Forks. His 3 year battle with cancer ended on March 2nd, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was a 1972 graduate of Chenango Forks High School, where he attended the Auto Body and Fender repair class at BOCES, which sparked his lifelong passion for building and customizing cars, his favorite being the 1939 Chrysler pick up. He was the kind of guy who remembered you by the car you drove, not so much your name. He retired from the Town of Fenton Highway Dept., where many great friendships were made.
He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Anna Pangburn. He is survived by his loving wife, who never left his side, Carole Pangburn, his daughter Amy Runkles (Alex,Avery,Caden,Arlo), his son Jesse Emm, wife Sara (Jakob,Neilia), his favorite feline companion Patsy, siblings Ed Bennett(Ann), Don Pangburn(Fran), Bob Pangburn(Sue), Faye Oleniacz(Alan), Carol Dumas(Gary), sisters and brothers-in- laws, Deb Rhodes(Jim), Rob Strickland(Kathy), many nieces and nephews and lifelong best friend Bert Adams.
Special thanks to all the family and friends who filled his final days with laughter and loving goodbyes. The family would also like to thank the Hospice team of Kim, Mary, and Carlie for doing an amazing job. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Every Cats Dream or S.P.E.A.K. in his honor.
