“Tim” Douglas H. McKnight

Of Harpursville

 

“Tim” Douglas H. McKnight of Harpursville passed away on Sun. Sept. 11, 2016 at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years and best friend, Janet Schultz McKnight, his children, James McKnight, GA., John McKnight, Nineveh, Donna Broach, NC., Christa McKnight, FL., Timothy (Christine) McKnight, Windsor, David Moore, Harpursville, former son-in-law, William Broach, NC, his grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) McKnight, Jennifer McKnight, Casandra McKnight, Margaret (Hunter) Sykes, TJ McKnight, Sarah Broach, Melissa McKnight, several great grandchildren, a sister, Nancy Everling, Binghamton and also several nieces and nephews including his good friend and fishing partner, Alvie Cower and his little dog, Millie.   He was predeceased by his son, Stephen McKnight.  From 1953-1957, Tim was in the United States Marine Corp. and served in the Korean Conflict.  Tim was a member of Bricklayers Local 42 for many years, was owner of McKnight’s Masonry, was well known for his beautiful brick and stone work and grew potatoes with his wife on Schultz’s Potato Farm.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. 

Memorial Services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville on Sun. Sept. 25, 2016 at 3 p.m.  The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sun. from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to service.   On-line condolences may be made at:   www.omaddenfh.com.
