Sorry to hear of Gary's passing. My sister, Denise Hutchings, told me about it last Saturday.

Gary and I knew one another in the Bridge. mainly in the mid- to late-60's. I remember him for his smile and our competition to see who could do the most pull-ups on a bar he and his Mon fashioned in a door frame. Both of us were embarrassingly bad at it = worth a BIG chuckle. Loved his Mom, too...she also gave the bar a regular try! Bigger chuckle.

I did stop by the R&W a few times (over the years) when visiting my older sister (Roseann Snashall) in the Bridge. Gary was always on the move, and when not roaming the store he was carving meat like a surgeon. Sorry to have missed you so much man..I've .always had a fond spot for you in my heart.

Your friend, Win

I am so sorry to hear of the great loss of a dear friend. We grew up together and spent a lot of time playing golf, even if I won sometime, and many days of fishing. Sure going to miss a good friend and a part of Chenango Bridge. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to hear of Gary's passing. Growing up in Chenango Bridge and playing lots of baseball with and against Gary. He was a fixture as was the Red& White. It was always great to go up to the Bridge and run into Gary at the store. He was just a good person who had physical problems that he would never mention. RIP to a good man.

Joanne and Family:
We are so sad to hear of your loss. When Gary was behind the butcher counter he was usually answering questions about the proper way to prepare a certain piece of meat. If he knew you were a Giants fan or your husband was he always struck up a conversation about them. He's a great individual and sadly will be missed by us all.
Sincerely,
Karin & Jim O'Brien

JoAnne & family,
Prayers for you all during this time of grief. At least now Gary's suffering is over. I lived in the bridge for twenty years and the store was a godsend for our family. Now you employ my son MATT. I did not know Gary very well but I do remember that smile & his kindness to the patrons of the store. May God ease the pain of your grief and guide your family through these difficult days.
Sincerely...Cathy L McLean Wood

Dear JoAnne......Sue and I write to offer our heartfelt condolences to you and your family following the death of Gary. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. We thank God for the gift of Gary's life.

As children, Gary and I first met in the late 50's while playing Little League baseball in Chenango Bridge. He pitched for "The Red & White" team and I was a catcher for the "CB Fire Company" team. A wonderful chapter of life. Perhaps he is pitching in heaven too.

May your heart be filled too with wonderful loving memories of Gary.

My condolences to Gary's family and many friends! I worked at the Red & White in the 1960s, and it was always a hoot when I would get back to the area to stop in there. While so many small, locally owned grocery stores failed across our nation over the past few decades, the Red & While, under the Klenovich family management, carried on. It always made me smile to see Gary behind the butcher counter, the spitting image of his Dad! It sounds like he lived his life with love, caring and integrity. I am sure his death marks a huge loss for many!

Jo Anne,
I'll never forgot when you and I were tellers at Marine Midland and Gary would come in with the deposits for the Red &White. How both your faces would light up the minute he walked in. You two built a beautiful life together and I'm sorry he was taken from you too soon. Please know that you and your family, as well as your store family, are in the thoughts and prayers of many.
